webcampbadge100What are web camps?

Microsoft’s Web Camps are training events that teach you how to build websites using the latest web technologies including ASP.NET MVC, WebMatrix, OData, jQuery, IE9 & HTML5 and Web Apps.

Where and When?

We’re brining a number of them to Saudi Arabia, and starting off with a web camp on ASP.NET MVC that will be held in Microsoft Innovation Center – AlYamama University, Riyadh – Saudi Arabia on December 27th, 2010.  Both males and females are welcome.

Any material or kits provided?

This is going to be a full-day free workshop (registration required, but no fees) and you’ll get a chance to learn ASP.NET MVC, with presentations, demos, and labs.  Although you can download the web camps training kit for self-learning, we also encourage you to learn from our expert Tariq Ali, and get into discussions and labs that are instructor-led.

The Web Camps Training Kit is completely free :-) and provides all the content that we cover in the events like presentations, demos, demo scripts and labs.  This is the one that will be used throughout the workshop.

What to bring with me?

Be ready to the following before you attend -

  1. Notebook computer <- there will be no PCs provided, and you need to bring your own.
  2. Sketchbook <- in case you want to take notes
  3. Identification <- and ID and registration copy is recommended.

TechEd Middle East 2011 – Save The Date

BLOG BUTTON-02 - SAVE THE DATETech∙Ed Middle East returns to Dubai in 2011, March 8 – 10, for 3 full days of deep technical education, hands-on-learning and opportunities to connect with Microsoft and Community experts one-on-one.

Join the Tech∙Ed Middle East email list and be among the first to receive event announcements and notification when event registration opens.

Why attend Tech∙Ed?

Tech∙Ed provides the most comprehensive technical education across Microsoft’s suite of released, or soon to be released, products, solutions and services. Tech∙Ed is for IT professionals and developers who are involved in implementing, deploying or building solutions using Microsoft technologies.

TechEd Middle East 2010

By taking part in Tech·Ed 2010, technology professionals can meet their individual challenges head-on by engaging directly with their peers and Microsoft to find the technology resources necessary to help build state-of-the-art software solutions or to help plan, architect, deploy, manage, and secure a connected IT infrastructure.

  • Tech-Ed is Microsoft’s premier technical education and networking event
  • Tech-Ed is a global, year-long series of events. Microsoft is investing in the IT Professionals and Developers in the region by bringing this international event to the region.
  • The event is focused on technical education, product evaluation and community development delivered by renowned technology experts, distinguished speakers and community influencers
  • Delegates attending Tech-Ed can expect access to the same level of technical content and international and local expertise as would be delivered at any other Tech-Ed event around the world.

I’m going to TechEd Middle East this March 1-3, 2010, and will have a session on Microsoft Expression Blend, SketchFlow:

Prototyping the UX: Expression Blend + SketchFlow (WEB201)
Track: Web and User Experience | Timeslot: Wed, Mar 03, 2010 (09:30 – 10:30) | Session Type: Breakout Session

Session Summary: As the on-screen behaviour of software applications becomes more and more sophisticated, it gets harder and harder to envision, validate and document your user interface. New features in Expression Blend 3, including Sketchflow, make user experience design an integral part of the software development lifecycle, and free up the UX bottleneck. Come see Expression Blend 3 and Sketchflow in action, and learn how to integrate conceptual design into your next project, regardless of platform.

Level: 200 – Intermediate | Speaker/s: Abdurrahman Al-Qahtani | Room: Dubai B | Audience: Developers, Web Developers, Designers, Development Managers

More sessions can be found here: http://www.teched.ae/sessions.aspx
